Costume Design Project For the ‘Wind in the Willows Production’
As part of our skills project we have 4 days to complete a scenic painting challenge! I had to grid up a tiny Toulouse Lautrec paint that was no bigger than the palm of my hand to a 8″4″ canvas !
I WAS IN HEAVEN ALL WEEK! They are on exhibition in the Linbury Gallery at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama
The paint by Lautrec was entitled ‘Clowness Cha-U-Kao in a Tutu’- his work in stunning, he really can paint a go tutu!
As the final project to conclude the model making term, we were set the challenge of design a model for a production. I was give the weighty task of designing a stage for the “Waiting for Godot play” by Samuel Beckett.
It took me a long time to pull apart the script and find a visual way to interrupt such an ungrounded text.
This is the first 1:25 scale model room and figure!
